VISIT MEDWAY QUEEN

A visit to PS Medway Queen is an interesting
experience for the whole family.

Besides the amazing history of this historic paddle steamer, you can investigate the social history of Kent’s seaside holidays and the part played by paddle steamers in the Second World War, especially during the Dunkirk Evacuation of 1940.

Browse the history in the Medway Queen Visitor Centre and then come aboard the ship for a guided tour led by one of our knowledgeable guides. Our membership of Kent’s “Wheels of Time” scheme has added emphasis to our offering for families.

Ship Tours annual ticket price – Ship admission £10 per adult.

  • Annual tickets are non-transferable and are valid for 12 months from the date of first visit.

Please note that access to the ship may occasionally be affected or limited due to restoration work, exceptionally high tides, or other factors. We recommend contacting the visitor centre in advance to avoid disappointment.

Important information

​Disabled access

The ship has a ramp that is suitable for disabled access. In addition there is a stair lift available to help access the lower deck. We also have one wheelchair and a disabled walker frame on the lower deck that can be used for visitors with mobility difficulties.

Parking

Free parking is available on site. Tea and coffee are served on board, and you’ll also find a well-stocked book and souvenir shop with something for every visitor. Whether you’re looking to relax with a warm drink or take home a unique memory from your visit, we’ve got you covered.

Dog friendly

We are happy to welcome you on board together with your four-legged friends. Well behaved dogs are very welcome to join our ship tours, so you don’t have to leave them behind. We’re open to everyone and look forward to seeing both you and your pets enjoy the visit.
We kindly ask that all dogs are kept on a lead at all times while on board.
