We are always happy to welcome the younger generation aboard our unique historic ship. Our amazing team will gladly guide you on a tour that will captivate the children and help them explore history through interesting facts and engaging stories.

Group Tours

Group visits are available on any day by prior arrangement as pre-booked guided tours.

You will arrive at a welcoming tour by the team, where everyone is enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and stories of the ship’s restoration. The engaging visual and creative craft workshops make this an unforgettable trip.

Ship Hire

The Medway Queen is an amazing historical space available for hire for a variety of events, including children’s parties, dinners, drinks receptions and music gigs. Additionally, the ship can be rented for weddings and corporate events, providing a memorable setting for your special occasion.

Talks and presentations

Pam and Mark Bathurst go out to give talks with a Power Point presentation to organisations about the ship. They cover the ships build in 1924, her early days doing her run on the Rivers Thames and Medway, then her career and bravery during the second world war. They move on to cover the remainder of her time as a pleasure steamer, followed by her period on the Isle of Wight, and her sad years that followed.

The second part of the presentation covers her rise from the bottom of the Medway in Chatham Dockyard to the present day and her future. If you or your organisation would like a talk by them, (and they don’t mind travelling) there is no charge as such, however they do ask for a reasonable donation for the ship and her refurbishment.

Important information

Disabled access!

The ship has a ramp that is suitable for disabled access. In addition there is a stair lift available to help access the lower deck. We also have one wheelchair and a disabled walker frame on the lower deck that can be used for visitors with mobility difficulties.

Parking

Free parking is available on site. Tea and coffee is served on board, and there is a gift and well-stocked book and souvenir shop with something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to relax with a warm drink or learn more about the ship, we’ve got you covered.

Dog friendly

We are happy to welcome you on board together with your four-legged friends. Dogs are very welcome to join our ship tours, so don’t hesitate to bring them along! We look forward to seeing both you and your pets enjoy the visit. We kindly ask that all dogs are kept on a lead at all times while on board.
