2024 saw the centenary of Medway Queen’s launch at the Ailsa Shipbuilding Company of Troon and her entry into service. Like most companies before WWII, Ailsa relied on the railway for much of its materials supply and had extensive sidings.

What better way to mark the occasion than with a commemorative railway wagon? These models are based on the long wheelbase Dapol N gauge 20ton mineral wagon in a fictional “Ailsa” livery. It has been produced in two body colors with running number 24 to mark the centenary year.

The models were commissioned in cooperation with the General Steam Navigation Locomotive Restoration Society.
