Here we see two shots hot of the press, of the keel being drilled ready for rivetting and the first frame, awaiting drilling next week. As ever the work being done is fantastic and first rate by the team.

Slidebars machined and ready.

Last week news came from Bristol that the two slidebars, for the Medway Queen’s engines, have now been re-machined. The slidebars are the first piece of the engine to be fully restored and ready for when the engines steam again.
To protect the slidebars, they will be safely packed in boxes until the time when the rest of the engine components are fully restored.
