Engine parts under restoration in Bristol

The HP cylinder has been drilled and tapped to take draw off bolts, the gland removed and a “dam” of filler made so oil can be poured down the rod. we have cut the rod to remove the crosshead, and have a cast rilway wheel suspended from the crane as the ultimate “shock hammer”. Anyway it has moved!!!! a long way from getting it out but watch this space. Lee and Andy are “glowing”, its really hard graft.

An important part of the hull in the making

The fabrication of the most important hull piece commenced this week at Abels Shipyard in Bristol.

Fabricating the Medway Queen’s keel follows recent work on the bulkheads and other associated works which will all for part of the new hull.
